GETTING AROUND
The best way to get around Mexico City is by Uber or taxi. Taxis are a bit more expensive, but they are a hassle-free way to travel. Uber is a safe and more affordable way to navigate the city.
- Uber or Taxi: The safest and most convenient way to get around. Call ahead for a "taxi de sitio" (safe taxi) for secure transportation, or use Uber for an affordable and reliable option.
- Metro: Cheap and efficient, but very crowded during peak hours. Carry only small bags and be mindful of pickpockets. Tickets cost $5.00 pesos.
- Metrobús: Another economical and fast option with dedicated lanes. You need a smart card to travel, which costs 16 pesos, and each ride costs $6.00 pesos.
- Tourist Bus: The Turibus is ideal for sightseeing, with commentary in various languages and multiple stops. It operates from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and costs around $8 USD for adults.
- Car: Driving can be complicated due to traffic, traffic rules, and limited parking. If you decide to drive, there are several rental companies available at the airport and in the city.
